Kimono & Mantaray

I am interested in the natural world and the play of order and entropy that underlie it.

Of hardness and softness, of stillness and movement, of darkness and light, like water running over stone.

These are the elements I wish to express in my work and evoke in the viewer a sense of stillness and contemplation.

The laws of nature dictate the structure of a leaf but no two are the same, what appears static is constantly evolving, like so, I draw on common elements in my work but their metaphorical nature keeps changing.

Kimono suggests layering and folding of fabric whilst also suggesting a sacred pool with raked stones.

Mantaray The ocean to me is the mother of all life, I live on the edge of the ocean, which is a source of inspiration.

I am interested with this piece in capturing the sense of flight of the mantaray I enjoy the creative process of working with the client to reach a fulfilling conclusion.

I design and create one off pieces for example water features, sculptural pieces and stained glass.
